I have traveled a lot in my life but I had never been to Scotland.
This year Angela and I were invited by our good Scottish friends Jim and Paula to stay with them at Whitecairn Holiday Park, situated on a hillside overlooking the bay of Glenluce, in the southwest of Scotland.

When we arrived at Whitecairn Holiday Park we were impressed by the panoramic views over the colored hills and the blue waters of Luce Bay. The clean and well-kept park has luxurious holiday homes, which can be hired for very reasonable prices all year round.

We only experienced a weekend at this exceptional park but it was a very memorable weekend.
The southwest of Scotland is so beautiful and has so many breathtaking places that it is an ideal area for a longtime holiday.

We particularly enjoyed Galloway Forest Park, The Queens Way with Murray's Monument and the Wild Goat Park, Three Lochs, Port Patrick's little harbor and Wigtown with its array of bookshops. Dumfries and Galloway has so much to offer there is always something new to discover and see.

What also made a big impression to us was the welcoming and friendly nature of the Scottish people who were open minded everywhere we went.

It was great to eat fresh fish in one of the fishing ports, I'll never forget the delicious cod that I had in the Crown Hotel of Portpatrick where we were looking over the small harbor to the Irish Channel.

Everywhere we went we felt 'at home', especially when we returned to Whitecairn Holiday Park where the atmosphere is so peaceful.

Whitecairn Holiday Park is a perfect destination to go and discover the beautiful Southwest of Scotland, especially for people that are looking for peace and relaxation, where you can live in harmony with nature, far from the crowded world.

For those who prefer to stay in the village of Glenluce itself, Glenluce Holiday Park (Sister site 1/ ½ miles away) a good option with the charm of village life right on your doorstep.

It is a pleasure for us to recommend both parks to other people.
Angela and I will come back here in the future, that's for sure.
